Synopsis
Kupungarri, a remote community in the North-West of Australia is one of the most natural places left in the world. This small community fosters confidence in their young people through their relationship with Country. Watch the excitement grow as they prepare for one of the biggest events of the year, the annual Mowanjum Festival.
Director’s Bio
Filmmaker Marlikka Perdrisat grew up with Nyikina Country, which is felt in each of her projects. Marlikka started in short form with the successful series Concepts of Country, which created national conversations around Nyikina language, land and law. Marlikka’s first short film “Babanil” premiered nationally at Sydney Film Festival, internationally at ImagineNative. Now with her second film, Marlikka wants to share how growing up with Country creates confidence and joy in young people.
