Synopsis

The low-budget adventures of streetwise fisheries officer Honey Kaha are brought to life by star Dr. Julia Love and her dastardly former husband, Kent Barry

Director’s Bio

Te Waiarangi Ratana is a Tūhoe filmmaker whose work lives between laughter and longing. Moving through comedy, satire, drama, and romance, his shorts have connected with audiences and screened at festivals worldwide. He is currently developing feature projects based on Manu Masters and Honey Kaha, the latter of which screened at MIFF 2024 before continuing its international festival journey in 2025. A past participant of the MIFF Accelerator Lab and the IFA Masterclass with Asghar Farhadi, Te Waiarangi brings a bold, playful voice, a commitment to Māori stories, and a belief that comedy can challenge, reflect, and celebrate.
