Synopsis
Chris Masterman is a TV weather presenter whose best days are already behind him. One day, he is assigned to travel to the town of Broome, right in the heart of the Australian Outback. Through a moment of carelessness, he accidentally hits a baby kangaroo with his car and, while seeking help, meets 11-year-old Indigenous girl Lilly, who immediately takes care of the injured animal. The two form a friendship, and in their attempt to rescue more baby kangaroos, an exciting adventure begins for both of them.
Based on a true story, KANGAROO is a heartwarming family comedy, directed by Kate Woods (The Umbrella Academy, The Lincoln Lawyer) from a screenplay by Harry Cripps (My Crazy Family). Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Australia, Ryan Corr (House of the Dragon) and newcomer Lily Whiteley shine in this lavishly shot, exciting family film, in which a teenager must stand up for her beliefs to protect her home. The original BBC documentary was a hit in both the UK and Australia.
