Synopsis

Freedom Is Beautiful is the story of two extraordinary Kurdish refugees, Farhad Bandesh and Mostafa (Moz) Azimitabar who fled persecution in Iran & arrived separately by boat to Australia seeking asylum in 2013. Beautifully told in their own words, Freedom Is Beautiful is an uplifting story of the power of love and our shared humanity.

Angus McDonald is an award-winning visual artist and documentary filmmaker. He is a committee member for Human Rights Watch Australia and was an Ambassador for World Vision’s #KidsOffNauru campaign.

Freedom Is Beautiful is McDonald’s first feature film.
