Synopsis
ROE (Running On Empty) follows a teacher at an underfunded public school in Tasmania as she tries to establish boundaries with her students. ROE is a love letter to teachers everywhere and recognises how complex the role is; and how much we owe to those in this tough profession.
Director’s Bio
Alison Stanton-Cook is an acting coach, writer, director and intimacy coordinator based in Nipaluna/Hobart, Tasmania. Alison’s debut short film ROE (Running On Empty) has been selected at festivals including St Kilda Film Festival, Fleurieu Film Festival, CinefestOZ and the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival in the USA. Alison was the Director's Attachment on ABC's production Bay of Fires S2 with support from Screen Australia and Screen Tasmania.
